Please help Leo, a 10 week old kitten who fell from a significant height. He desperately needs $760 for emergency leg surgery.

Leo is just a kitten and has already been through so much. Rescuers believe Leo was plucked off the ground by a hawk who later dropped him from a significant height.
"The vet thought at first he was hit by a car, but the only thing wrong with him is that his front two legs are broken. He was found alone with no other kittens around, and no mother. They believe he was picked up by a hawk which happens quite often," Nadine, from Rhode Home Rescue, the group that swooped in to save Leo, tells Waggle.
When Nadine heard about his case, she immediately offered to help. "I was horrified. They think he was probably dropped because cats land on their feet, and he would have taken the brunt of his fall on his front legs," she says. Poor Leo looks so grim in his pictures, with a cast on one leg, and a puncture wound on his chest. "For some reason, that cat tugged at my heartstrings. I named him Leo because I'm a Leo. He looks like a grumpy cat, but he's super sweet."
Leo now needs surgery at the Byreview Veterinary Clinic. The medical team will insert pins into one of his legs to hold the bone in place, and the other leg will be splinted. "We usually rescue dogs, we don't do a lot of cats, but this guy won me over. And now he's the most expensive cat in the rescue," Nadine adds.
Leo is unique because of his fighting spirit. He is lovable, playful, and just happy to get a second chance at life with his new rescue pals. He has the soul of a warrior and has been able to overcome everything that's been thrown at him so far.
If you can donate to help Leo get back on his (two) feet again, the rescue would be so appreciative, so will Leo!
Our pets are our family. Regardless of the “how” or “why”, once they're in our lives, they stay with us forever. Sadly, every year, more and more family members are being euthanized because of income challenges.
Many pets, especially in economically challenged communities, go through this pain. But what if people can help? Help financially struggling families save their best friend.
The ICanHasCheezburger Fund helps provide assistance to pets with essential medical needs. The Waggle Foundation goes above and beyond by creating matching grants with excess funds that may be raised for the pet you see here. These awards amplify your impact by incentivizing other donors to give a little more to help additional dogs and cats in crisis.
It is our hope and goal to help in any way we can. To help pets live out their best lives with their families. Help us make dreams come true by making a donation.
*Credit card processing fees add up to thousands of dollars. Your contribution will help offset these costs and allow us to care for more pets in need.
