Blitz Needs Help!
Heath S. says that handsome Blitz is a sweetheart and "without a doubt" his best friend. "I drove over four and a half hours to pick him up as a baby. I wrecked my car in the process of picking him up, but I would do it over again in a heartbeat." Blitz adores Heath's 3-year-old nephew, his fur sister Mandi, and their cat Simba. Blitz loves to go on runs with Heath and is crazy about car rides. Heath shares, "any time a car door is open, you have to be careful or he is in your car. Once he is in the car, it is very hard to convince him to get out." Blitz is energetic, vivacious, and snuggly. He doesn't like blankets, so Heath does without them to make Blitz is happy. Heath describes Blitz's eyes as "breathtaking." Heath admits that Blitz is a little spoiled, but feels that Blitz deserves to be. Heath adds, "He just loves my entire family, and it melts my heart."
Blitz was hit by a car on January 23, 2020. He was able to drag his injured body back home or "would have been left stranded to suffer wherever the accident happened." The family rushed Blitz to an emergency vet, where they made him as comfortable as possible. Heath reports that Blitz had severe road rash all over, and he broke his front right leg. Dr. John Dillion of St. Francis Veterinary Hospital advised Blitz's family that Blitz has a severe leg fracture that requires surgery. Heath stresses, "Without the surgery, his quality of life will not be the same due to how active he is."
Heath is a full-time college student, and his dad just lost his job. Heath states, "I'm usually too stubborn to ask for help, but Blitz is my baby and he does not deserve to suffer. Any amount is helpful." Can you help Blitz get his fractured leg repaired, so he can get back to going for runs & jumping into cars again?
