Addy Needs Help!
Addy loves nothing more than playing with the children and other dogs in her family.
"We've had Addy as part of our family since she was a puppy," Maureen M., her human mom, tells Waggle. "She and the children have grown up together."
But suddenly, one day recently, Addy hurt her leg while she was running in the yard. "She suddenly began limping," Maureen says. "We took her to the local vet who referred up to the university clinic with specialists. She needs surgery to void further damage to her leg and her ability to walk."
If Addy doesn't have immediate surgery, she may have to have her leg amputated. That's the heartbreaking reality her family is facing because they can't afford the operation. "We are heartbroken as you can imagine and want to do everything for her. She is still so young, good-natured, and full of energy," Maureen adds. "I can hardly write those words without crying. We've never had to ask for help like this, but the surgery is complicated and expensive, and Addy means so much to us, and she loves life so much."
The University of Florida Small Animal Hospital is ready to perform Addy's cruciate knee repair surgery, but the family needs your help to help pay for it. "We're going through some family changes right now. We don't have an extra penny and not a chance to change that. We know Addy's surgery can't wait, or she may lose the leg," Maureen pleads.

We are thrilled to work with the Waggle Foundation to feature a Sunglass Cat "Pet of the Month", with the goal of raising charitable contributions toward a pet's veterinary bills and then being able to fund additional campaigns on the waggle.org website.
